While Kevin properly raises pre-flop with AK suited and then pushes the betting after hitting top pair with a straight draw before the turn comes, the all-in move at the end was certainly not a great play considering he likely had put Jeezy on AQ. Maybe he thought he was holding KQ?
Regardless, while his nut flush was probably hard to get away from — and Garnett certainly didn’t put Jeez on a pocket pair — there were a bunch of full houses out there. Either of AQ or QJ, two likely hole-card pairings for the Snowman to be playing, would have left KG assed-out. Meanwhile, any of AA, QQ or JJ were pimp-slapping him too. Unless he thought Jeezy was rocking a KQ and was just playing the hand badly or that he had flopped a K10 straight, there really wasn’t any upside to going all any one of five of the better starting hands were sending him home.
Plus, he’s throwin out chatter about queens after the turn, pretty much confirming he’s got the ace and letting Jeez draw out. The emotive head-nod gestures and Tom Cruisesque facial expressions when the cards come out aren’t really helping either.
Ultimately, I think we can assume Jeezy got into his head with the “I got that basketball money, too” comment and made The Kid think he was just screwing around with a shitty hand cause money aint a thang.
C’mon, KG. You may as well be eating Oreos out there, bra.
Pay that Snowman his mooney.
