Thus, here’s a video of those two — plus her tall, blond partner and some dude — squaring off in a rock ‘em, sock ‘em game of beach volleyball on Big Aristotle’s new show Shaq Vs., which features him trying to beat pro athletes from other sports at those other sports. It’s an idea he reportedly stole from Steve Nash, whose only public comment on the matter thus far has been: “I don’t want nobody sound like nobody from my clan, man. Keep it real — getcha own shit, man. And be original.” (video via Hooped Up)
Straight from the Gordon Gekko school of economics, Carlos Boozer has announced his plans for this summer.
“I’m opting out. No matter what, I’m going to get a raise regardless,” Boozer said. “I don’t see why I wouldn’t, I think it’s a very good business decision for me and my family, but I’d also like to see what happens with the Jazz and stay here.”
Or, in the words of O’Shea Jackson on the new Ghost remix, “Fuck you if you don’t think I get money.” No word, however, on whether or not Booz has a movie for ya kids, a dick for ya bitch or a .45 slug for ya wig. Given Betrayal Skull Dude’s history, I’m not sure it’s out of the question.
Jazz owner Larry Miller slammed Boozer in his weekly radio appearance on KFAN 1320, saying, “It’s one of the top 10 stupidest things I’ve heard an NBA player do in 20 years.”
Booz obviously deserves at least close to the max and has since backpedaled on Wednesday’s original comments a little bit while also re-affirming his commitment to hopefully re-signing with the Jazz.
Really, this shouldn’t (but obviously will) be an ongoing story. We knew he was opting out anyway and the fact that his gravitas in announcing this fact came up short of, say, Gilbert’s similar announcement last season really isn’t particularly significant.
That said, anyone who would abandon playing with Deron should prolly have their head examined.
