By now, you have probably already seen all of the NBA’s “where will amazing happen this year?” ads. All in all, it’s a really good campaign that recalls some great Playoff moments and the two most recent ones are particularly great.
Better than the commercials themselves, however, are the parody ads they’ve spawned. Many of these predictably chastise NBA officiating and feature a slow-motion, black-and-white play like the dubious foul called on Dirk against Flash in the 2006 Finals over the campaign’s signature dramatic piano keys. And while those are marginally entertaining, the classic hoops movie moments are where the satire really shines.
First up is White Men Can’t Jump.
Honestly, I would have preferred the first play where we first see Billy Hoyle play as he steps in for “Mr. Motherfuckin’ March of Dimes” and proceeds to strip Sidney’s 28′ foot pull-up three before making a beautiful jump-pass to the dude in the Punisher shirt for a completely unnecessary backwards layup. Billy’s celebration would be the perfect place to end the ad and the part of the play where Sidney attempts a pull-up jumper from like five feet behind where the NBA three-point line would be is probably my favorite part of the entire movie. (Watch that play here.)
Regardless, Billy’s dunk to beat The King & The Duck is definitely where amazing happens.
Next comes Jimmy Chitwood’s walk-off from Hoosiers.
Obviously, Teen Wolf was a must.
Who could forget Derek Vineyard’s walk-off dunk from American History X.
What yall know about Optimus Prime breaking ankles?
And last, but not least…yeah, ok, it’s certainly least: Slam Dunk Ernest.

What are the dimensions of the court and hoop used in the Transformers spot? Is it a 100-foot tall rim? 250-feet?
Also, I’m pretty sure the Birdman would have throttled Optimus had he been around to protect that paint.
