SportsCenter Is Still on the Air?

by Jared Wade on May 14, 2009 at 2:13 pm

News to me.

But apparently people just can’t get enough of the former best show in the history of television turned hard-hitting schoolyard gossip magazine series. And not only is the story of Corie Blount getting arrested with a bunch of weed big enough news to make the show (probably ahead of many, many worthwhile highlights), but apparently it’s also hilarious. (video via Slam)

So what’s the purpose of this show again? Is it the sporting world’s version of E!’s The Soup? Is it a homeless man’s attempt at a video Deadspin? Bill O’Reilly for dumb people too dumb to follow politics? Or is SportsCenter some big Colbert Report joke that I’m just not in on?

I’m confused.

Meanwhile, some completely nondescript NBA journeyman that you may sort of remember because he has a name that would be mildly ironic if you mispronounce it is going to jail. Hahahahahahahhaha. High comedy.

I agree man. Sportscenter is anything BUT highlights these days. Annoying. They do the bar thing on the HD version and I just go away and come back for the highlight I want to see. The sports ET is very true!
