The NBA Championship Is up for Grabs Again

Here at Both Teams Played Hard, we usually don’t do the “such and such got injured” thing, mostly because we figure if you can’t watch a game and realize that a certain guy is not in uniform, this probably isn’t the site for you.

But since the Lakers looked thoroughly unbeatable over the past two months given their absurd front-court depth — not to mention their actually having two solid PGs — the fact that Andrew Bynum’s weekend knee injury turned out to be an MCL tear that will keep him out up to 12 weeks seems particularly post-worthy.

So, yup, that’s the story.

I’m not a arthroscopic surgeon, but I’m guessing he won’t be 100% let alone back in shape even during the Playoffs, so it looks like Cleveland, Boston and possibly even San Antonio and Orlando are right back in this here hoss race.

Sucks for Bynum, Mamba and Jack Nicholson. Probably for the best for everyone else watching the NBA.

Your move, LeBron.

And now Jameer Nelson with a dislocated shoulder.

He will of course find a telephone pole, slam his shoulder into it while emitting a bloodcurdling scream, and be OK to play the Pacers Friday.

Or maybe Orlando needs an available veteran point guard!
