As is common knowledge amongst the Both Teamsters Union, we don’t have a lot of rules around here.
But one law that is simply unbreakable is that any time an interim coach quotes a guy with the back of his bullet hole-ridden jersey tatted on his back saying “swag” we break our temporary posting hiatus (see the next post) to share it with the world. That’s just how we roll.
Thus:
[DeShawn] Stevenson, who has started 189 straight games since joining the Wizards for the 2006-07 season, will come off the bench Tuesday against the Charlotte Bobcats. Stevenson is shooting 31.7 percent from the field this season.
“In a real team gesture he basically told me: ‘Tap, I’m struggling a little bit. Why don’t you let me come off the bench and see if I can’t get my swag back,’” interim coach Ed Tapscott said.
Honestly, I’m not sure what’s more fantastic: (1) the fact that Locksmith calls his coach “Tap” or (2) that Tap quotes DeShawn calling him Tap. But, mostly, I just wish we had video of him saying this.
With that, I’m back to sabbatical status.
