The NBA Takes Over Union Square on Tuesday

On Tuesday, Kia Motors and the NBA will be hosting the free, all-day NBA Tip-Off ‘08 event for fans in Union Square (7 am – 7 pm) to celebrate opening day and ring in the new NBA season.

Incredibly, they will be building a full-size court on site where fans can not only play ball, but meet the current Knicks players, NBA and Knicks legends, Spike Lee, and the Knick City Dancers who will all be on hand. A live broadcast of ESPN 1050 Radio with Michael Kay will also take place and fans will be able to win prizes while they enjoy the music, NBA talk and entertainment coming throughout the day from the three-story DJ tower and 8′x10′ video wall that will be next to the court.

Below is the ambitious lay-out, and the whole event sounds like a great time for anyone who will be in New York.

Check it out.

(Thanks to digital girl Julia Roy for the heads up.)
